Arelle is an open source platform for validating and processing XBRL. First created in 2010, it makes XBRL data more accessible through a desktop application, command line interface, Python API, Docker image and web service.

Mission

Arelle’s mission is to support the global adoption of XBRL by giving regulators, software providers, auditors and filers a free, standards-based platform for working with structured business data.

Stewardship

Arelle is released under the Apache License 2.0 and maintained in the open by the Arelle team and community contributors. Workiva holds the project’s copyright.
